ETEC 623 Project Proposal

Your Name: De Nguyen

Project Title: Setting–up a Web-Site as Tools for Teaching

Project Focus: Using Technology (focus 1)

Project Description: Designing my own web site. With my own web site, I can link many automotive web sites which have the animations, parts, systems, or pictures of the automotive systems. This will help students to see and listens so they will have better understanding how the automotive systems work. All of the appropriated URLs will be arranged according to each lesson unit, and it will be easier and time-saver for me to help them with other aspects. I can also up load the lab. assignments or other information for students to access anytime. I can certainly apply more useful applications with this web site to help myself and students.Project Artifacts:
1. Collecting and arranging the URLs to the lesson plans.
2. Selecting software to use for designing a web site (i. e. Dream Weaver or Microsoft
FrontPage).
3. Deciding on which server I should use, and the amount of megabyte I need for this site.
4. Arranging the classes and lessons then incorporating the URL to appropriated spots.
5. Designing home page and up-load information.
6. I will post the link to this web site on my Blog Site for the Instructor to check on my
progress.
7. Work hard to meet the deadline.

Project Timeline: I started the back-ground work today, and will go back here weekly to up-date on the progress. I committed to complete this project two weeks before class deadline.

With practicing and familiarizing with this tool, it also helps students in passing the ASE certification. After all, this requisition for this new technology is a benefit for the program.

Project Artifacts:
1. Consult with the Air Conditioning instructors to find out what they actually need
and want from this new technology.
2. Get the oral approval from the Dept. Chairman.
3. Write a justifying letter for the reason why we (speaking of the Heating/AC
classes) need to support the technology for these classes.
